Description
This easy green chile salsa recipe is perfect for when there aren't any fresh tomatoes in the house. It's also tasty made without the green chiles (when all you have are canned tomatoes on hand).
Ingredients
| 1 | cn | 16-oz. tomatoes, drained (and mashed with hands) |
| 1 | cn | 4-oz. chopped green chiles |
| 2 | onions or scallions, chopped | |
| 1 | clv | garlic, minced |
| 2 | t | chili powder |
| 1⁄4 | t | cumin |
| 1⁄4 | t | oregano |
| 1⁄2 | t | salt |
Instructions
Place all ingredients in heavy pot and bring to a simmer; let cook for 10 minutes. Serve warm or chilled with corn chips. The flavor is best after this salsa sets for half an hour.
