Best Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

Description

This family favorite is the best moist chocolate cake ever. The key is in its secret ingredient: brewed coffee. My favorite way to serve it is topped with this Peanut Butter Frosting. Wonderfully rich, moist and satisfying!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3⁄4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1⁄2 cup oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (hot or cold)

Goes Well With

milk, ice cream, hot tea, coffee

Directions

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray cake pan(s)* with vegetable oil spray and coat with flour.

  1. Sift or whisk together the first 6 dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. With electric mixer, blend together the eggs, oil, milk, vanilla and brewed coffee. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until mixed well (batter will be runny).
  3. Pour into cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until done. Cool and frost as desired.
