Q & A with eatGREEK: Simple Greek Recipes
I recently met Livya through twitter when she posted some awesome Greek recipes. That's when I discovered
she runs the site eatGREEK. How happy I was to discover an easy-to-use authentic Greek recipe and cooking site! As some of you know, I absolutely adore Greek food and it's my dream to visit Greece one day. Livya has generously shared a simple Greek appetizer, Stuffed Tomatoes with Tuna (see below), and also taken the time to answer some questions about eatGREEK. Thank you, Livya! Hope y'all enjoy the recipe and our brief Q & below:
How long has eatGreek.net been sharing simple Greek recipes (when did you start the site)?
I came up with the idea last December and I built eatgreek.net last February.
What inspired you to start this recipe site?
Cooking is part of my daily life and I love it! But except from this, a lot people from abroad love Greek cuisine. So I got up with the idea to build a place to help them find simple Greek recipes to cook in their homes.
Do you create and/or cook all of the recipes?
Yes, many of the recipes are mine and I cook them regularly. But apart from my own, I cooperate with two more Greek blogs, at the moment. They give me their recipes in Greek and I translate them to English.
I love Greek food and can't wait to visit Greece one day. Could you share a bit about where you live in Greece, and what a 'day of food' in your life would usually be like (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc.)?
As half of the Greece population, I live in Athens. Everyday life in the big city is quite noisy and stressful so from Monday to Friday my cooking schedule is a bit harried. Not enough time to prepare properly a lunch and a breakfast. So a quick espresso with a piece of homemade bunt cake or a slice of bread with marmalade. For lunch some vegetables or salad are fine and when I return home (5-6pm) I prepare a proper dinner.
Do you have a blog, or how often do you add recipes to your site? Or twitter or Facebook sites where we can connect with you?
Except from eatgreek.net I don't have any other blog because I spend most of my time on eatgreek.net. I try to add one recipe, or article, or something new to the site every day.
My twitter account is https://twitter.com/eatgreeknet and the official facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/pages/eatgreeknet/112879532071822?ref=ts
Is there anything else you would like to share with QQM readers?
A big thanks to QQM readers for their time and of course all of you are welcome to visit eatgreek.net to buy you a meze (snack) or whatever you want!
An ever-changing variety of Greek specialties greets you upon each visit to eatGREEK -- I'm looking forward to trying the Giant beans in the oven, the Country Style Salad and the Summer Green Beans. But first, today's Lunch: Stuffed Tomatoes with Tuna!
