If you've taken a glance through some of the QQM recipes (or did a recipe search), there's a pretty good chance that you saw an ingredient called Adobo. Ado-what? Adobo is Spanish for seasoning or marinade. Now, I'm not Spanish, but I just love the way that name rolls off the tongue: A-do-bo. Doesn't taste half bad either. Now, it's not a recipe breaker if you don't have it on your shelf. (You can make do with salt--even garlic salt.) Then again, it's really something I'd like to share with you. You see, Adobo is my all-in-one lifesaving seasoning. Really.
Many times when tossing together a last-minute meal I found that I was "looking for something more." Hmmm, what was it? What seasoning should I use? Well, opening that spice cupboard door wasn't helping--waaaay too many decisions in there. But Adobo makes it so much easier. It's really as simple as a quick sprinkle and sauté. Hey, I can do that! There are some commercial varieties of Adobo that you may find occasionally--but I've found them all to be very strong on the garlic-onion-ey side.
